A study of the degree of family orientation of ethical base in designing Iranian school curriculum

Abstract

The present study aims to examine the extent to which the family setting based on ethical standards has been paid attention to in designing the curriculum of elementary schools from the perspective of the teachers. The research method is in the range of descriptive statistics and can be classified as applied research. The study statistical population consists of all elementary school teachers of the town Divandareh. The statistical sample includes 210 people who have been chosen through stratified random sampling, members having an equal chance of being selected.

The research instruments, besides the library sources, include the researcher-made questionnaire which was used to assess the comments. Data analysis was done using two methods of descriptive (percentage, frequency, mean, standard deviation) and analytical (t) approaches.

 According to the findings of the study from the perspectives of the teachers, the level of  attention to the concept of family, based on the ethical standards in the school curriculum in educational and managerial aspects is negative. The results also indicate that, according to the view expressed by the statistical sample, the status of the curriculum in legal, obligatory and emotional aspects can be assessed as ideal.
