Surah al-Hujurāt (Surah of Ethics);A Model for a Family Life

Abstract

 
Given the fact that all the verses of the Holy Quran are instructive and scientific, and worthy of being exemplified by every faithful Muslim, in the current research paper, the Hujurāt Surah, known as the Surah of Ethics, as a light in the path of cultural progress in Islamic societies, has been reconsidered. The current study aims to investigate Surah al-Hujurāt, Surah of Ethics of the Holy Quran in the descriptive and practical approach to find behavioral guidelines for correct and constructive family relationships based on Islamic teachings to find answers to intra-family communication problems. To this end, the verses containing cultural and ethical teaching principles and cores have been selected and explained to provide an accurate model for building and improving family relationships, and their position in the context of family were discussed and clarified. In the end, the capability and practical application of the verses of this Surah became more comprehensible in the framework of the family's ethical and cultural system to elicit correct and proper behavior models. In other words, in response to the question of what patterns of improvement in family relationships can be extracted and applied from this noble surah, one can consider patterns of polite observation, inquiry into the validity and reliability of news and then whether or not to accept it, the necessity of faith and piety for avoiding disagreements, creating equality of brotherhood, the pursuit of justice based on justice, omission of suspicion, absenteeism, and other mockery as the findings and conclusion.
