This study examines the role of intuition and metacognition in the entrepreneurial decision-making process and proposes Islamic solutions to improve their decision-making. By analyzing the concepts of intuition and metacognition in Western and Islamic literature, the study elucidates their impact on entrepreneurs’ decisions. In Western literature, intuition is defined as rapid decision-making without deep analysis, which assists entrepreneurs in making quick decisions under uncertainty but may lead to errors. Metacognition enables individuals to monitor their cognitive processes and use them to enhance decision-making. Conversely, from the Islamic perspective, intuition is considered an inner and metaphysical process resulting from soul purification and spiritual practice. Within this framework, wisdom is attained through the combination of intellect, innate nature (fitrah), and servitude, encompassing higher forms of intuition, while metacognition is introduced as a tool for supervising intuitive and cognitive processes in elevated decision-making. This descriptive-analytical study, with data collected through a library-based method, reveals that the integration of intuition and metacognition helps entrepreneurs make better decisions. When combined with Islamic teachings such as soul purification, divine wisdom, and the use of spiritual sources (Quran, Sunnah, and guided intellect), this approach leads to improved outcomes. Therefore, entrepreneurial decision-making should be based on a multidimensional approach that integrates intellect, intuition, and religious teachings to prevent cognitive errors and achieve optimal and elevated decisions.
