Helping children to cope with loss of family members
The main objective of the current study was to articulate the experience of loss in children due to death in the family member. Experience of loss has various consequences for children originates from these losses in the family can be related to familial discords, separation of parents, their addiction or death of the members of the family. One of the important losses in the family members which is devastating is death of parents or siblings experiencing a grief is the bereavement of family members is added to the ambiguity of death accelerate confusion grief, depression, and anxiety suicidal tendencies in children parents are not capable in explaining the phenomenon of death to children. In addition to their anxiety that interferes with their inadequate explanation of death to children. Death of family member sometimes in anticipatory children can expect death of family member due to illness, but sometimes is sudden (for example, it occurs suddenly due to an accident), for some members in the family death in traumatic (e.g., due to AIDS, Suicide). Each of these categories was associated with specific distress for children. Symptoms of bereavement, and loss are sometimes physiological (e.g. headaches), psychological (e.g. depression, anxiety) academic problems. Bereavement due to the siblingâs experience of death also has adverse consequences. Counseling and psychotherapy for the family members, especially for children, is necessary to help them in adjusting to their environment to cope with difficulties. Spiritual intervention is necessary to enhance the impact of psychotherapy in coping children with stressful situations.
