In the ideological history of religions, a cleric is someone who has the ability to create a relationship between the sacred and the social through spirituality. If morality is considered as a principle in the social activism of the clergy, spirituality will be one of the important indicators of this principle. The Shia clergy during its lifetime as a reference group has not been an exception to this general rule. From this point of view, the purpose of this research is to answer the question of what interpretation do the clergy have of the role of spirituality in the ethics of their social activism in the current society. The approach in this research is qualitative and thematic analysis method has been used for data analysis. In order to collect empirical data, a semi-structured interview has been conducted with 20 clerics Active in cultural, social and administrative fields of Isfahan, who were selected by purposeful sampling. The analyzed data were organized in the form of 6 organizing themes of role value, professional approval, interventionism, interactive relationship, social commitment and moral flexibility and 3 overarching themes of establishing professional identity, improving moral performance and moral resilience.
