In modern times, moral anomalies and corruptions have reached their peak and everyday different moral vices occur throughout the world in a way that soon the foundations of human civilization might become frail and shaky and the structure of moral and humanitarian culture may be totally ruined, due to such high rate of immorality. Thus, to fight against such phenomenon, it is essential to consider the notion of self-purification and training of pious men an important solution.
Based on this, the present article seeks to present some patterns for moral education using Imam Khomeiniâs opinions regarding self-purification. The study, which is a quantitative one with descriptive-analytic approach initially extracts Imam Khomeiniâs views about self-purification and moral education from his works and then analyzes them on a logical base. Based on the findings of this study, Imam Khomeini believes that the faith which stems from the trust in God and piety if accompanied by awareness and insight, social responsibility, contemplation and Self-knowledge can have great influence on the process of moral education.
